Ground and Precipitated Calcium Carbonate — coated and uncoated, across a wide mesh range. Brightness ≥95%, purity ≥97%, full Certificate of Analysis with every shipment.
Calcium carbonate is one of the most widely used industrial minerals on earth, with applications spanning virtually every manufacturing sector. Its chemical formula CaCO₃ represents a white, naturally occurring mineral that is commercially supplied in two main production routes — each with distinct properties and end-use characteristics.
Ground Calcium Carbonate (GCC) is produced by mechanically crushing and milling natural limestone, marble or chalk. Hibernia General sources GCC from high-purity limestone deposits, processed to controlled particle size distributions. Available in uncoated form for water-based and aqueous applications, and stearic-acid coated for polymer compatibility — reducing moisture absorption and improving mechanical properties in plastics and rubber.
Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) is a synthetically manufactured product formed by reacting calcium hydroxide with carbon dioxide. The process allows precise control over particle size, crystal morphology (scalenohedral, cubic, acicular) and purity — making PCC the premium choice for paper coating, pharmaceutical excipients, food-grade applications (E170), and specialty plastics where consistency is paramount.
For high-performance applications such as premium architectural paints, automotive coatings, and cosmetic-grade products, we supply ultra-fine micronized grades with d50 particle sizes down to 1–5 microns. These grades offer exceptional opacity, high surface area, and tight particle-size distribution suitable for the most demanding formulations.
Ground from natural high-purity limestone. Bright white, cost-effective filler. Ideal for construction, PVC profiles, and dry-mix mortars.
Surface-treated with stearic acid for polymer compatibility. Better dispersion, reduced moisture absorption, enhanced mechanical properties in plastics and rubber.
Synthetically manufactured for high purity, controlled particle size, and defined crystal morphology. Premium grade for paper, pharma, and food.
Particle sizes down to 1–5 microns for high-performance applications in premium paints, cosmetics, and specialty coatings where fineness is critical.
