Light, Heavy and Basic USP/FCC pharmaceutical-grade magnesium carbonate. From rubber compounding to pharmaceutical excipients, fire-resistance and sports chalk.
Magnesium carbonate is a versatile white inorganic mineral compound used across rubber, plastics, fire-resistance, pharmaceuticals, food, cosmetics, and even sports. It occurs naturally as the mineral magnesite, and is also produced synthetically in basic (hydroxide-containing) form for applications requiring high purity and consistent specifications.
The three commercial forms — Light, Heavy and Basic (USP/FCC) — share the same essential chemistry but differ dramatically in physical properties such as bulk density, particle morphology and absorption characteristics, making each suited to a specific class of applications.
Light Magnesium Carbonate is a fluffy, low-density powder with very high surface area — ideal for absorption-driven applications, rubber compounding (where high surface area is needed for vulcanisation), and antacid formulations. Heavy Magnesium Carbonate, by contrast, has greater bulk density and better compressibility, making it more economical to ship and easier to handle in industrial-scale rubber and fire-protection applications.
Our Basic (USP/FCC) grade meets United States Pharmacopeia and Food Chemicals Codex standards, with controlled heavy-metals (≤20 ppm), arsenic (≤3 ppm), and chloride/sulfate limits. It is used as a pharmaceutical tablet diluent, antacid active ingredient, food anti-caking agent, and as gymnastics/climbing chalk for moisture absorption on athletes' hands.
Low bulk density, high surface area, excellent absorbent properties. Fluffy white powder used in rubber, cosmetics, antacids, and as an anti-caking agent.
Denser particles, coarser texture. Higher packing density makes it cost-efficient for transport. Used in rubber reinforcement, fire-resistance, and industrial applications.
Pharmaceutical and food-grade quality meeting USP/NF and FCC specifications. Used as tablet diluent, antacid, anti-caking agent in food, and chalk for athletes.
